Keeping Children Safe

At Thetford Academy we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our young people.

To achieve this we ensure the continuous development and improvement of robust safeguarding processes and procedures that promote a culture of safeguarding within our staff and volunteers.

We expect all our staff to undertake a full enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Safer Schools Partnership

Thetford Academy works with Norfolk Police as part of its Safer Schools Partnership scheme to ensure the safety of pupils, staff, and the local community, and build positive relationships between pupils and the police.

A Safer Schools Partnership Officer visits the school regularly to take part in assemblies and lessons on topics such as internet safety, healthy relationships, and anti-social behaviour.

The Safer School Partnership also gives support where students are at risk of getting drawn into crime or anti-social behaviour.
