Joyous Celebrations for Thetford Academy’s Growing GCSE Success
BackThetford Academy, one of Inspiration Trust’s secondary schools, opened its doors this morning for GCSE results day and everyone has been celebrating the results ever since, with 60% of grades 9-4 across Maths and English, everyone at the school is extremely proud of its students who have all achieved great things after an unprecedented couple of years due to the pandemic.

“Congratulations to our Year 11 students who have worked incredibly hard to achieve their results, securing their places on their next pathways to success. On behalf of myself and the team at Thetford Academy, we wish them all the very best for the future.”
Thetford Academy is extremely proud of the achievements of all of its GCSE pupils this summer, and the school has seen significant improvements in a wide range of subjects. 100% of grades in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and French were at grade 4 or above. 20% of all GCSE grades were at grade 7 or above, which includes 54 grade 9s - double the number that was seen in 2019!
Situated on the same site as Thomas Paine Sixth Form, Thetford Academy students have the opportunity to continue studying for A-Levels on the same site. Many students have l taken up this opportunity to study at Thomas Paine Sixth Form, paving the way to attend some of the best Universities in the country.
Head student, Halle (pictured above, right) said,
“The last few years have been very stressful with a lot of disruption and catching up to do, but the school has helped us tremendously with revision and now we all have results that we can be proud of.”
Head student Valters (pictured above, left) said
“I am extremely proud of the great efforts that the students and teachers of Thetford have put in throughout these hard times. The efforts have paid off in the end.”
With a school vision that empowers students to work hard and achieve highly, the staff at Thetford Academy are all extremely proud of its students and their knock-out GCSE results this year. With a commitment to outstanding progress, enjoyment, and engagement within their learning environment, students feel prepared with what they need to succeed in exams and this shows in the results.
Reuben (pictured below) achieved nine Grade 9s and was the top performing student in the year. He is moving up to study A Levels in sciences.
Year 11 student, Natalia achieved seven Grade 9s, three Grade 8s and a starred distinction.
Deputy Head Student Sam achieved seven Grade 9s, two Grade 8s and a starred distinction. Sam said,
“I am over-enjoyed at the results that I achieved. They are better than I expected and they are opening many doors for me to let me take the journey I want into the future.”
Erin achieved two Grade 9s, six Grade 8s and two Grade 7s.
Nathaniel achieved two Grade 9s, five Grade 8s and two Grade 7s.
Thomas achieved three Grade 9s, three Grade 8s and three Grade 7s.
Demi achieved three Grade 8s, three Grade 7s, two Grade 5s and a starred distinction.
Demi said “I feel that these results reflect the hard work that I have put in and I am looking forward to moving up to the next stage of my education”.
Twins Flynn and Jacob both did very well in their exams and are heading on to the next stage of their education.
